Grid Management

The TAC system uses grids or spreadsheets to display information. In almost all cases, you can control many features of each form independently. This way you can set what information you want to see in the order, font and color you want. A list of things you can manage in a grid are:

  • Color banding
  • Font type
  • Font size
  • Column width
  • Column order - Click on the column heading to re-order displayed information
  • Print grid as displayed
  • Export grid as displayed to Excel

The one exception to this is the reference files, where you cannot re-order by clicking on the columns.


Printing a Grid

To print a grid, follow these steps:

  1. Set up the grid as you would like. You can hide columns and move them around. Then exit the form as you normally would, so that it remembers the setting.
  2. Bring up the form and right-click, then select the grid management option on the action menu.
  3. Select the Print button and the grid will print in landscape mode in a viewer. You can then select the printer and the grid will print as viewed.

Exporting the Grid to Excel

To export the grid to Excel, follow these steps:

  1. Set up the grid as you would like. You can hide columns and move them around. Then exit the form as you normally would, so that it remembers the setting.
  2. Bring up the form and right-click, then select the grid management option on the action menu.
  3. Select the Export to Excel button and you will be prompted for a directory and file name to save the grid..
